What We’ll Do
Southern Food, Music, & Civil Rights is a Nashville bus tour exploring civil rights history, the musical legacy of Nashville, and the best soul food in the South. Together we'll embark on a heritage trail learning about defining moments in Nashville’s history.
On this fully narrated Nashville bus tour, you’ll uncover how courageous students from Nashville's historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) fought for equality and won. You'll tour 3 Nashville HBCUs: Fisk University, Meharry Medical College, and Tennessee State University. Along with civil rights, you'll learn about the true musical legacy of Nashville, which started with the group called the Fisk Jubilee Singers. The Singers traveled worldwide hosting concerts that would eventually land them in front of royalty.
We’ll say goodbye at one of Nashville’s most flavorful soul food restaurants that serve traditional southern-style meals from hot chicken to collard greens. You'll learn the history behind this black-owned restaurant and their traditional food (meals are not included). The Nashville Southern Food, Music, & Civil Rights Tour tells the story of brave men and women of the past and present who inspire us all.
This tour will continue rain or shine.
